Spider Solitaire

Spider Solitaire is patience card gaming at its most absorbing. One deck layout, eight sequences to build, and all the time in the world to get them wrong. It’s the solitaire variant people graduate to and never leave.

About Spider Solitaire

Cards are dealt face-up across ten columns. Build descending sequences of the same suit, move them as a group, and clear a full King-to-Ace run to remove it from the board. Empty columns become staging ground for reorganizing. Undo exists, which is the only reason half of us ever finish a game.

Start on one suit if you’re new. Four suits is a different, meaner game.

How to Play

Drag cards or sequences onto columns that accept them (one rank lower, any suit for mixed moves). Clear complete same-suit runs from King to Ace. Draw new rows when you need them, and empty the board to win.

Tips

  • Empty columns are leverage. Keep at least one open for maneuvering.
  • Prioritize same-suit builds. Mixed-suit stacks look tidy and play badly.
  • Reveal face-down cards before making decorative moves. Information beats aesthetics.
