Age Of War 1
Survive the stone age, invent the cannon and flatten the enemy base before they do the same to you. Age Of War 1 is the original base-vs-base tug of war: spend gold on units, defend your spawn and push through five eras of increasingly ridiculous firepower.
About Age Of War 1
Each side starts with a modest base and a trickle of income. Spend it on infantry, ranged units and siege weapons, then send them marching across a single-lane battlefield to chip away at the enemy’s stronghold. Your base can also advance through ages — stone, castle, renaissance, industrial and futuristic — unlocking stronger troops and tougher turret defenses at each step.
Special abilities unlock along the way, including a dinosaur stampede and orbital strikes, which are the kind of emergency buttons that swing a losing war in one press. The AI escalates with you, so early passive play usually ends with a very one-sided defeat screen.
How to Play
Gold accrues automatically, with bonus gold earned for kills. Click a unit icon to spawn it — each has a cost and a role, from cheap cannon fodder to slow, expensive siege engines. Click the base upgrade button to advance an age once you can afford it, which unlocks better troops and improves your turret. Use your super weapon when things go south, but save it for a real crisis; the recharge is long. Destroy the enemy base to win. Your own base must not fall.
Tips
- Mix cheap units as a meat shield with a couple of heavy hitters behind them; pure expensive armies get swarmed.
- Upgrade your turret early — passive base defense keeps you alive while you save for the next age.
- Watch the enemy’s gold flow: if they just spent everything on a wave, that is your moment to counter-attack.
